Deià village nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains at sunset

Private Transfers to Deià

35 minutes from PMI Airport through the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Mercedes chauffeur service to your hotel or villa in one of Mallorca's most special villages.

Discover Deià

Deià sits high on a hillside above the Mediterranean, right in the middle of the Serra de Tramuntana. It's been attracting artists, writers, and musicians for well over a hundred years -- the English poet Robert Graves moved here in 1929 and never left. You can see why. The houses are honey-coloured stone, there are ancient olive terraces climbing the slopes, and the cliffs drop straight down to the sea. It's still got that creative, slightly bohemian feel, but it's also become one of Mallorca's most exclusive spots. Belmond La Residencia is here, along with a handful of smaller boutique hotels. Now, the drive from Palma Airport to Deià is beautiful, but the mountain roads aren't for everyone, especially after a flight. With a private transfer, your chauffeur handles the Tramuntana hairpins while you sit in a climate-controlled Mercedes and watch the scenery. And the scenery is worth watching -- you pass through Valldemossa, climb through olive groves, and then Deià appears on the hillside with the sea behind it. Your driver drops you right at your hotel entrance and takes care of the bags.

The route follows the Ma-1110 through the Serra de Tramuntana, which is a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. You start on a fast dual carriageway, then it climbs through Valldemossa and onto the famous mountain road. Most days it's about 35 minutes, but summer traffic or the occasional winter roadworks can stretch it to 45. Our chauffeurs drive this route daily, so they know the best times to go and where to avoid delays.

Popular Pickup Points

Our drivers know every little lane and back road around Deià. These are the spots we get asked for most:

Deià Village Centre

The old heart of the village with the stone church, small cafes, and art galleries on every corner. We get you as close to your accommodation as the narrow streets allow.

Belmond La Residencia

Probably the most famous hotel on the island. Two restored stone manor houses with olive and citrus groves all around. We drop right at the main reception entrance.

Cala Deià

The village's rocky cove, down a narrow road that winds to the coast. People swim here, eat fresh fish at Ca's Patro March, and watch the sun go down over the Mediterranean.

Robert Graves Museum

Robert Graves' preserved home on the Carretera de Soller. If you're at all interested in literature or the island's cultural history, it's worth an hour of your time.

Recommended Hotels

We're constantly going back and forth between these properties and know every entrance and approach road:

  • Belmond La Residencia — Two stone manor houses, an infinity pool, its own art gallery, and the El Olivo restaurant with views over the village and the sea below
  • Es Molí — Smaller hillside hotel surrounded by lemon groves. There's a private path down to the cove, and the village centre is five minutes up the hill.
  • Hotel Sa Pedrissa — A 17th-century finca right on the cliff edge. Small, intimate, with panoramic Tramuntana views that make you want to cancel the rest of your plans.

What to Expect

When you book a private transfer to Deià with Transfer VIP Mallorca, your chauffeur tracks your flight and is waiting in arrivals with your name. From there it's into the Mercedes -- cold water, WiFi, climate control all ready to go. The mountain drive to Deià is honestly one of the best on the island. Your driver can point things out along the way if you're interested, or just leave you to enjoy the views in peace. If you've got kids, child seats are free. Travelling with bikes or extra gear? The Mercedes V-Class has plenty of space. For a celebration, we can put champagne in the S-Class. Our drivers are properly experienced on the Tramuntana roads -- they know these bends inside out, rain or shine.

Deià Transfer Questions

The Ma-1110 through the Serra de Tramuntana has hairpin bends and some narrow sections -- it's a mountain road, so it's not a motorway. But our chauffeurs drive it every day and know every curve. It's perfectly safe in our Mercedes vehicles, and the scenery is genuinely some of the best in Europe.

For families or anyone with a lot of luggage, the Mercedes V-Class is the best pick -- it's stable and comfortable on winding roads. Couples or solo travellers tend to go for the Mercedes E-Class or S-Class, which give you a really smooth ride. All our vehicles have good suspension, which matters on mountain roads.

Plenty. Valldemossa and its Carthusian monastery are about 20 minutes away. Soller, with the old wooden tram that runs down to Port de Soller, is 15 minutes north. And Fornalutx -- which people often call Spain's prettiest village -- is 25 minutes away. We do transfers to all of them.

About 35 minutes from Palma de Mallorca Airport. You take the motorway towards Valldemossa, then climb up into the Tramuntana mountains. It might take a bit longer if there's traffic leaving Palma or if there are winter roadworks on the mountain stretch.

Of course. We pick up from every hotel, finca, and villa in and around Deià -- Belmond La Residencia, Es Molí, private estates on the hillside, all of them. Our drivers coordinate with the hotel reception so your departure goes smoothly, and we can handle whatever luggage you've got.
