Discover Alcudia

Alcudia is up on the northern tip of Mallorca, where the Bay of Alcudia curves into some of the best beaches you'll find anywhere in the Mediterranean. There's the walled medieval Old Town with its Tuesday and Sunday markets, the resort strip of Port d'Alcudia packed with restaurants and shops, and then Playa de Muro -- which consistently gets ranked as one of Europe's top beaches, and for good reason. Families love it here because the water stays shallow for ages and the waves are gentle. The S'Albufera Nature Reserve is right behind the dunes if you fancy some birdwatching. Now, the one thing about Alcudia is it's a proper drive from the airport. The shared shuttle buses stop at every resort and can take over two hours. With Transfer VIP Mallorca, your private chauffeur loads your bags into a Mercedes and takes you straight there in about 50 minutes. You get WiFi, cold drinks, and you can actually enjoy the drive through the Mallorcan countryside instead of watching other people get off a bus.

The route heads northeast on the Ma-13 motorway, passing through Inca and Sa Pobla before you reach the Alcudia area. In summer, the approach to Port d'Alcudia can get busy and add 10 to 15 minutes. Our drivers know the back roads and shortcuts around here, so they'll always find the quickest way through.

Popular Pickup Points

We cover the whole Alcudia region. These are the areas we get the most requests for:

Port d'Alcudia

The main resort strip with a long promenade, loads of restaurants and shops, and family beaches that stretch all the way towards Playa de Muro. Most of the big hotels are right here.

Playa de Muro

White sand, dunes behind, the S'Albufera wetlands beyond that. The water here is ridiculously clear. Several top all-inclusive resorts sit along this beachfront, including the Iberostar and Zafiro.

Old Town Alcudia

Still surrounded by its medieval walls, which is pretty rare. Quiet plazas, small shops, and the Tuesday and Sunday market is a proper local experience, not touristy at all. Much calmer than the port.

S'Albufera Nature Reserve

The biggest wetland in the Balearic Islands, sitting between Port d'Alcudia and Can Picafort. It's a protected zone with great birdwatching and walking trails, and it's literally right next to the beach resorts.

Recommended Hotels

We're dropping guests at these resorts all the time. Here are some of the best places to stay in the Alcudia area:

  • Zafiro Palace Alcudia — Five-star right on Playa de Muro with a rooftop pool and swim-up suites. Hard to beat the location.
  • Iberostar Playa de Muro Village — Big family resort, all-inclusive, with direct beach access and several pools. Kids love it.
  • Garden Hotels Playa de Muro — Modern resort with a nice spa, well-kept gardens, and you can eat with your feet practically in the sand
  • VIVA Golf Adults Only — Quiet, adults-only, near the Alcanada Golf Course. Good for a proper relaxing break.
  • Hotel Can Mostatxins — Small boutique hotel inside the medieval walls of Alcudia Old Town. Totally different vibe from the resort strip.
  • Grupotel Amapola — All-inclusive in Playa de Muro with great kids' facilities. Popular with families for a reason.

What to Expect

Your driver tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals at Palma Airport with a name board. From there, it's into the Mercedes and north through the heart of Mallorca. The 50-minute drive passes vineyards, almond groves, and the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains -- it's a genuinely lovely ride if you're not stuck on a bus. In the car there's cold water, WiFi, USB ports, and individual climate controls so everyone's happy. Got small children? Baby seats and boosters are free, just mention it when you book. Bigger groups heading to Alcudia can take our Mercedes Sprinter (up to 16 people) or the Minibus (up to 35), which is handy for weddings or family reunions. Every transfer is a fixed price -- no meters, no extras, no surprises when you get there.
